Bob Brown

Bob Brown is the founder and head instructor of Zoo Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. He received his black belt in 2016 and has been training and competing all over the world for 18+ years.

Bob began training martial arts in 2000 while a student at the University of Illinois. Over the years, Bob has trained Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Jeet Kune Do under Jack McVicker, a world-class 3rd degree black belt under Wellington "Megaton" Diaz and instructor in Bruce Lee’s art of Jeet Kune Do and Filipino Martial Arts (Kali) under legendary instructors Dan Inosanto and Paul Vunak.

In 2008 Bob moved to New York City where he trained under Renzo Gracie black belts Aaron Milam and Jin Yung at Workshop. Bob has traveled the world, training and competing in places that include Brazil, Japan, Italy, Panama, Costa Rica, Tahiti, and South Korea.

Most recently Bob moved to Missoula, MT in 2015 and is excited about growing the city’s best facility for Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.

Bob holds a bachelor’s degree in both Finance and Spanish from the University of Illinois and an MBA from Saint Louis University
